Mobile Phones

Since the days when you needed a nuclear reactor on your back to supply you with half an hour’s mobile phone energy, mobiles have become sleek, sophisticated and owned by practically everybody. Such is the depth in numbers, models, styles, features and add-ons that you can choose from, that sometimes finding the right mobile for yourself can actually be tricky business. Perhaps there are times when too much choice is actually a bad thing!

Despite the possible fear of stepping into the unknown, you can help yourself by knowing what you want. Are you, for example, a businessperson and heavy user of the phone- or do you want it for the occasional call to friends and family? Then the choice of headset will alter dramatically.

From the simplest phones with standard, unexceptional features right up to the latest phone with a million applications and built in camera, music player, internet and navigation system it is important to choose correctly- otherwise you will probably pay over the odds (or not enough) for a phone which does not suit your needs.

Some headsets are also sold especially for the network and usually come in at a cheaper rate when new. If you buy one of these, you can, legally, have the phone unlocked so it can take other sims and networks through it. (Do check how unlocking would affect its warranty status though.)

When looking for a mobile, and you have no favoured network, shop around- the same phone could be on sale for a greatly reduced price somewhere else. Ask yourself if you need all the features available on the phone (for which you pay more).

Bearing in mind that you could keep your mobile on you for a long time it also pays to have one that you like the look of too- they become part of you after a while!
